Broadland District Council are now working in partnership with Broadland Living to offer below market rental homes in the private rental market. These properties present a fantastic opportunity to secure your new home and are offered on an initial  twelve month tenancy basis. They are substantially more affordable than similar properties on the market. No deposit or guarantor is required although affordability checks will be carried out to ensure the rent is manageable for interested tenants.

These spacious properties are situated in the seaside town of Lowestoft, offering easy access to local shops, schools, and good public transport links to Norwich and Great Yarmouth.

Housing Register Applications - Delay

Published: Thursday 10 April 2025

Due to the increased demand for social housing, we are currently experiencing a backlog of applications. As a result, there will be a delay in processing times. Please be aware that it may take up to 12 weeks for your application to be processed. In some cases, this period could be longer. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.”

Please only apply to the housing register if you are eligible. To check if you are eligible, please see our do I qualify page.

We will require proof of all details listed therefore applying when not eligible will only delay eligible applications whilst also causing you unnecessary work.

Please note if you have not sent any supporting documents/evidence we may contact you sooner to ask that these are provided, this is to ensure that when we get to your application, we can deal with it as soon as possible. You can upload all the documents required via your Customer Account, and there is a list of all the information required. The easiest way to do this is on a smart phone, please see our guidance here.

Please refrain from contacting us regarding your application during this time, especially if it is only to chase progress unless you are threatened with homelessness and your need to move is urgent. We are receiving a number of calls of this nature, and it is causing further delay in progressing register application.
